THE ROUTE

The pathway Pisa – Volterra and Volterra- Murlo can be covered:

It mainly takes place in a woodland environment, interspersed with clearings and some vineyards or olive groves, mostly on forest roads, some short sections of asphalted roads, paved mule tracks and comfortable pathway.

The route allows to visit the Etruscan archaeological evidence of:  Necropolis of Portone (Volterra), Dometaia * by reservation with the Gruppo Archeologico Colligiano (Colle di val d’Elsa), Poggio alla Fame/Scarna (Monteriggioni), Agresto tomb (Casole d’Elsa), Mucellena (Casole d’Elsa) and necropolis of Malignano (Sovicille), linked in hiking mode.
